Buying Used Cars Over New Cars

True. A new car would go above a used car any day, in appearance, in function.. but this is not always the issue. This is especially not the main issue nowadays when it comes to buying a car. It all goes down to one simple word: VALUE.

Let us take the point of view of a person who's about to sell a car he bought just 3 years ago. Naturally when you take in the age and "used" period of the car, the value of the car would not have risen much since it was bought. Adding to that all the expenses made for the car --- gas, repairs, improvements --- one would think there would only be little difference when you compare the value it had then and now.

In buying either a used car or a new one, the concept of value also comes strongly into play. Surely, you would want a car that would not only match your personality and needs, but also would satisfy your finances. We should really take our time in sizing up a car and determining its worth.

Which would be more worth your money?

A new car would certainly highlight its new functions and attractive features. One look and you're itching to give it a test drive.

Still we insist that you put more time in searching for the right car for you, and take a look at how used cars can be more valuable than a new one. For one thing, and this is important, used cars has a higher probability of being more reliable than a new car.

How can that be? It's simply because a used car would've been under the scrutiny of repairmen that any of the car's flaws would've already been taken under consideration and fixed. With a new car, you have no sure way to find out any of its flaws until you've ridden it enough times. A used car would've certainly been laid bare and repaired.

Another reason to choose to buy a used car over a new one is because of the increasing prices recently. A lot of companies have lowered their prices and given promos but it still doesn't compare to the prices of used cars. Combine this with the probability of reliability, it would be wiser to buy a used car.

This is not to say that we will stop buying new cars, of course. It's nice to be able to own a new car, and be the first to use it.
